Fake Eyeball Craft
*Editor’s Note*
This is a guest post by my lovely, crafty friend Leigh. I’m so excited for her to share some of her amazing ideas! She always making something awesome at her house!
While I was elbow deep in Halloween crafting, I decided that I had to have some eyeballs to complete my decorations. Why buy when you can create? Off to the the local craft store to purchase the necessary supplies (and a few not so necessary) to make this fake eyeball craft.
This craft is an easy addition to a lot of other decorations. Plus it’s easy and inexpensive to make. And your kids will love helping with it!
What You’ll Need
- ping pong balls or round wooden balls
- black, red, blue or brown paint pens
- white craft paint (unless you are using ping pong balls)
- paint brush
Step 1
If you opted for ping pong balls, you can skip this step. Paint the wooden balls white. I placed mine on a strip of tape to hold them still while I painted them.
Step 2
Using your paint pens, paint the iris. You can stick with “normal” eye colors (blue, brown, or green), or go all out and create unusual colors for monsters or jack-o-lanterns (yellow, pink, purple.)
Step 3
Paint the pupil after the iris dries. You don’t have to stick to a normal circle either - think of the shape of a cat’s pupil.
Step 4
Paint the blood vessels. Start with one wiggly line and branch lines off of it. You can finish with a clear gloss to make them shiny and more realistic.
Tada! Now you have oodles of eyeballs! Use your imagination and put them to good use this Halloween.
